Stoneville native Jonathan Todd left Tri-City standing in the dust Friday night — sitting down all three batters he faced to pick up his first professional save.
The former RCHS Cougar and RCC Eagle struck out the side on 11 strikes and 17 total pitches.
Todd has been impressive as a closer/reliever in his first full professional season in the Blue Jays organization.
Drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2024 MLB draft, Todd is averaging 12 strikeouts per 9 this season for the High-A Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League.
The righty has held hitters to a .235 average this season, striking out 45 in 34 innings on the hill.
Todd has compiled a 66% strike percentage this season and is averaging less than four pitches thrown per plate appearance.
